Copperhill Mountain Lodge

Copperhill Mountain Lodge is year round designer hotel on the top of Förberget in Åre Björnen with expansive views of the mountains as well as skiing and hiking right outside the door.


Under one roof are 112 guest rooms and suites with a total of 420 beds, six conference rooms for up to 500 people, apprize winning spa for the the best in Europe, restaurant, bar, babysitting, ski rental, fitness center, activities and a private helipad.

The hotel's architecture is a contemporary mountain lodge-style created by the American architect Peter Bohlin, a recipient of USA's chief architect prize (The AIA Gold Medal 2010).

In winter, guests have a ski-in/ski-out to Åre's vast liftystem and close to Åre Björnen's scenic cross-country skiing. During the summer and fall well-marked hiking trails are right outside the door.

The name originated from a place part of Fröå copper mine, which mined copper ore from the mid 1700s until 1919.

Copperhill Mountain Lodge opened in December 2008 and operated since August 2009 by Nordic Choice Hotels. The hotel is a member of Design Hotels and Swedish Spa.
